About Dick Tracy
Richard “Dick” Tracy, BS, CCPS, is an instructor in the Criminal Justice Department at Remington College, (Colorado Springs Campus). Previously he was the Security Coordinator and Gang Specialist for Colorado Springs School District Number Eleven. He started the security department with School District No. 11 in 1990. He is on the Executive Board, serving as Vice President of Colorado S.T.I.N.G. (Security Threat Intelligence Network Group). Mr. Tracy is a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, a Certified National Gang Expert and a Certified CPTED Specialist (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design). He is considered a Judicial expert on School Street Gangs and School Safety & Security.
Mr. Tracy has written two books. The first book is on Juvenile Violence in American Schools. The second book is a training manual for law enforcement agencies and school staff, titled: A Guide to Understanding Juvenile Violence in America. He is a member of many professional and law enforcement associations and is a member of the National Major Gang Task Force. He also, has served on various community committees, Juvenile Gun Violence, City Council on Street Gangs and a consultant to several school districts and community colleges.
In June 2007, Mr. Tracy received a certificate of appreciation from Mr. Robert S. Mueller III, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Also, in August 2000, Mr. Tracy was recognized as “Colorado Gang Officer of the Year 2000” by S.T.I.N.G. He received national accreditation as “National Gang Expert” from the National Crime Center at Loyola University Law School.
